Adrienne Betts writes of Florence in 1984.
FAREWELL TO A GREAT LADY
During December I joined the many dozens of people who had gathered together to say goodbye to a great person, Mrs. Florence Robertson. "Robbie" as she was fondly known. As I stood there, I could not help but be amazed at the number of peoples lives Robbie had touched in her lifetime.
She had been on a number of committees, holding various positions for many organisations in teh Northcote community. In our club alone she was mother, Jersey washer, bun fighter, to literally hundreds of players over the years. Her ability to bind people together and get on with teh job should be an inspiration to everyone. Robbie was a life member and one of the clubs keenest supporters. She was a great lady who will never be forgotten.
Her services were recognised when she was awarded the Queens Service Medal. (1982)
