We’re pleased to announce Brett "Pres" Bedwell as head coach for the Gnomes in 2026.
2025 was a stepping stone for the Gnomes, and with the experience in this coaching lineup, we’re excited to watch the team push on to even greater growth in the coming season.
Pres brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise, including 22 years of coaching experience across senior first, u21s and premier grades, plus 8 premiership titles as both a player and coach (3 with the Prems, 2 with the u21s and 3 with Senior First).
Rounding out a coaching team stacked with depth and know-how are Chris Seyb, Brett Craies, Andrew Chatfield and Peter Stapleton.
85s Rugby is one of the fastest and most entertaining forms of the game. Players range in ages from their late teens to their late forties. With every player on the field being under 85kgs, it is probably the most level playing grade in Rugby. (no 120kg Giants to tackle). In this grade, it is Teamwork, Skill, Fitness and Fun that separate the teams.
The Northcote Gnomes have many proud traditions both on and off the field. A Team culture based on Brotherhood, Family, Fun, Inclusion and of course playing great Rugby.
