Jack was on the club committee in 1931 but the date of his appointment is unknown.

An able administrator, he represented the club on the Junior Management Board.

In 1938 he became Northcote's first management committee member of the Auckland Rugby union.

He served as president of the club from 1933 to 1944, a record term and was a vice-president of the Auckland union from 1949-1951.
