1983

The members of the 11th Grade Gold team can look back on the 1983 season with tremendous pride and satisfaction.

We set ourselves one aim for the season and that was to win the 11th grade ARU championship. After 15 games - 14 wins and 1 draw, the CHAMPIONSHIP WAS OURS!

The team was a coach's dream, players with talent' ability, fitness and discipline, but most importantly commitment - commitment to win the championship. We set out to play a fast running and passing game, moving the ball wide to the wing as much as possible, which was achieved by the scoring of 75 tries - not only did we attack with success - our defence was just as strong, having only 37 points scored against us.

The only disappointment the team had was that only three players were selected for rep teams.

The boys would like to thank the club and other teams for their support in the last vital game against East Coast Bays. They also thank the parents for their enthusiastic support through the season.

Finally the all coaches and managers congratulate the players on a very successful season and thank them for their mature attitude and great team spirit.
