2015

The Northcote Rugby Premier Sevens team entered four tournaments over the 2014/15 summer.  The team, well-coached by Premier coach Bob Telfer, assisted by Andrew Menzies and ably managed by Simon Williamson and Glenn Whitley, played some excellent Sevens.

The tournament results were:-

Mount Maunganui Sevens – 18 October 2014

Played 4, Won 2 (Te Puke 24-7, Manukau 22-10) Lost 2 (Glenfield 17-22, East Coast Bays 12-26.)

Top try scorer: Renata Roberts-Tenana (5) and 2 conversions.

North Harbour Sevens Tournament, Silverdale, 1 November 2014

Played 5, Won 2 (Takapuna 28-12, Mahurangi 21-12), Drew 1 (Silverdale 24 -all), Lost 2 (North Shore 17-29, Massey 5-34 in a playoff for 3rd and 4th place).

Top try scorer: Simon Quickfall (4), Martin Watson and 10 conversions.

Glenfield Sevens Tournament, Kaipatiki, 15th November 2014

Played 5, Won 4 (Auckland University-default, Auckland Marist 39-0, East Coast Bays 31-7 and Ponsonby 31-17 in the plate final), Lost 1 (Massey 10-19).

Top try scorer: Curtis Reid (5), Martin Watson 4 conversions.

Auckland Sevens Tournament (Provincial) at home, 22-23rd November 2014

Played 6, Won 2 (Brisbane ICONZ Rugby 33-26, Kelston Boys High School 33-10), Lost 4 (Northland 17-22, Counties Manukau 14-22, Wellington 12-33 and Northland in the plate final 12-15).

Top try scorer: Ryan Matyas (5), Martin Watson 5 conversions.

Player of the season: Curtis Reid.
