A second season of rugby for the J7 Maroon team, and it is amazing to see how much the kids develop in the space of a year.  Having mastered ripping last year we worked really hard on keeping a good defensive line and making plenty of passes this year.

The boys did a really good job at making sure everyone got their share of tries including many passes in space to make sure that everyone got a try where possible.  It was great to see 6 & 7 year olds starting to draw and pass although it did cost us a few intercepts!

One of the highlights of the year was playing in frost at Glenfield, happily, the J8’s had played before us so the worst of the cold had been dealt with.

In a really successful year we had some close games against Glenfield and the other Northcote teams but managed to go through the regular season winning every 14 games and losing just one..  The boys were really looking forward to the Snow White tournament and playing all day, and despite the horrible weather they did themselves proud by helping one of the Northcote teams make up their numbers and achieving a win and a draw in the abbreviated tournament.

By the end of the year, a few beautiful tackles were executed just to demonstrate how ready for tackle they are now.
