J2 Black had a number of returning players that were joined by some talented new players for this season. The loss of a few key players early on and a few tough games meant that we didn’t get the start we all wanted.
The boys learnt this season the importance of resilience. The results did not dent the commitment and enthusiasm of this team. The team improved throughout the season and once they built up their confidence and self-belief, there was no stopping them that resulted in some great victories.
One of the most pleasing aspects to see was all our players all genuinely enjoyed their rugby and especially each other’s company. This will forge great friendships that will last them a lifetime.
For the members of the team leaving the club this year for high school rugby, we thank you for your commitment to Northcote Rugby and are sure that you will have many great memories of the club. We wish you all the best for your rugby careers ahead!
As always, special thanks go to our loyal parents and supporters who have stuck by the team throughout the season. Thanks to the coaching team, and especially the players who have given back so many wonderful memories for us all.
