2017 North Harbour Premier 2 Champions

It is very hard to achieve the perfect season, but that is what the Northcote Premier 2 side delivered this year. Or close to perfection, missing out on maximum bonus points in only one game.  18 games played, 18 games won gave them 1st round honours and the North Harbour title.

That is the third time the Championship has been achieved by this side in the past five years.

Scoring a total of 730 points for (averaging 40 points per game) with 249 against, showed how dominant the side was.

Coaches Doug Tatana and Trevor Snookes blended together a very effective unit of young and old players, with the side stacked with Premier 1 achievers.

It was 1st five Jordan Mita who led the way, scoring 223 points for the season. Centre Jason Blackett led the try-scoring tally with 18. There were many players worthy of a mention, and it would be unfair to others to single them out. The highlight of the year was the team’s cohesive culture, unity and camaraderie. Captain and 2nd five Raana Peakman kept the team focused on achieving its Championship winning goal throughout the season.

The most improved forward was veteran prop, Damian Johnstone. The most improved back was wing Johan Koorts. The player of the year was 1st five Jordan Mita.

The team also thanks its coaches and Managers;- Simon Debelle (an unbeaten record on debut) and 9th year veteran Simon Williamson (who has now managed 152 games). Finally, a word of gratitude goes out to physios Terri, Mikaela and Josh.
