Why we need our supporters to be non-playing members

It’s a legal requirement for all patrons entering and using the facilities of a Club to either be a member or have reciprocal visiting rights.

We understand that many of you have been coming to the Club for years as the wife/husband/partner of a member and acknowledge this support, however if you’re not one of the following you must sign in:

  • Paid non-playing member of the Club
  • Life member (includes partner/husband/wife)
  • Registered player of the Club
  • Registered coach of the Club (includes partner/husband/wife)
  • Parents/Guardians of a registered Junior player
  • Visiting player of official with reciprocal rights
  • Major sponsor or contributor to the Club

Please don’t be offended when we ask you to fill out our Guest Pass.

Buy a $100 nail to support our maintenance programme

After 10 years of planning and fundraising, our clubrooms were officially opened in 1985 by Birkenhead MP, Jim McLay, the Leader of the Opposition. The Club’s President, Bruce Blackett, declared at the time that the Northcote Birkenhead community “now had a facility equal to, if not better than, any other of its type in the country.” The blood, sweat, time and money to complete this project is a testament to the passionate and staunch Cote supporters.

Since then, the building has served as a community facility for the people of Northcote and Birkenhead and we can all lay claim to special memories and moments that being part of Northcote Birkenhead Rugby has given us.

40 years of use sees us now in a position where substantial maintenance is required so we can all continue to enjoy our facility safely and pass on to our children, grandchildren, and friends to create their own memories. At the beginning of the 2024 season we unveiled the new upstairs bathroom facilities, the first major upgrade to the building since 1985. There are more projects that need to be undertaken and we’re asking our Northcote Birkenhead Rugby community to help us ‘nail this’ by purchasing, either as an individual, family or business, one, two or a bunch of $100 nails.

Your financial support for our building maintenance fund will contribute to our continued success. Money raised will remain separate from our day-to-day operational expenses, sponsorships and donations which keep the Club operating and our players, coaches and managers with the necessary equipment and gear each season.

Nails can be bought online through the website or via eftpos, cash or credit card at the Club.

In recognition of your contribution, you will receive permanent acknowledgement in the clubrooms.
