School Rugby Support

We’re proud to be supporting the combined schoolboys U15 team.

We’re proud to be supporting the combined schoolboys Under15 team made up of pupils from Northcote, Birkenhead, and Glenfield Colleges this season. Driven by the desire to support school-age players in the Kaipatiki region who want to play rugby, we’re providing coaching assistance in both player skill and team cohesion. The team has had sessions with our Director of Men’s Rugby, Brett Craies and former Prems coach Joe Kurukaanga, and this week, got to spend time with Prems coach Mike Noble for scrum practice and Prems 1^st five Jack Bergin to hone the backline. Even Club President Simon Williamson has rolled up his sleeves and is helping with coaching.

We’ve also secured sponsorship from the Northcote Rugby old boys raffle team down at the Northcote Tavern to assist with providing 70 training shirts for both the U15 team and the combined Northcote and Birkenhead Colleges 1^st XV.

The U15 side got their season underway last Saturday, playing well but just going down in the last minute to Long Bay College 24-27.
