Legends Spill Secrets: Helicopter Lessons, TikTok Fame & Rooming with Lomu
The new NZR+ show It's Not Tiddlywinks is anything but your typical sports chat programme.
Hosted by Ra Pomare, famous for his quirky Tuna advertisement and Snapchat escapades, alongside globetrotting rugby star John Afoa, it promises a blend of expert analysis and offbeat banter that keeps NZR+ viewers hooked.
Now with six episodes live on NZR+ and youtube, the series has welcomed an impressive lineup of guests including Frank Bunce, Thomas Waldrom, Steve Devine, Shiray and Gilles Kaka, the Piutau brothers Charles and Siale, and Stephen Donald.
Each episode is packed with iconic stories: Waldrom's nervy times rooming with Richie McCaw while McCaw studied for his helicopter license, the Kaka's rise to fame on TikTok, Steve Devine's first impression of Carlos Spencer at the Blues, and Frank Bunce reflecting on rooming with Jonah Lomu, the infamous 1995 Rugby World Cup food poisoning incident, and his clash with Wallabies enforcer Michael Brial.
Adding to the mix is John Afoa, who shares stories from his career with the Blues and abroad.
