Kolbe Leads the Charge in Fantasy Rugby Championship Round 4

Kolbe Leads the Charge in Fantasy Rugby Championship Round 4

All BlacksSeptember 16, 2025

Following an extraordinary weekend of The Rugby Championship, Fantasy Rugby managers were treated to some massive scores and standout performances.

South Africa’s Cheslin Kolbe was the clear Player of the Week, racking up a sensational 74 points during the Springboks’ emphatic win in Wellington. Kolbe’s dazzling display included two tries (+30), three line-breaks (+21), and a crowd-lifting interception (+5) to headline one of the great fantasy performances of the season.

Not far behind, Andrew Kellaway showed his class in Australia’s defeat to Argentina, tallying 73 points in a losing effort. The Wallabies fullback scored a try, delivered two try assists, and punched holes in the defence with two line breaks of his own. Just as valuable, he also created two line breaks for teammates (+10), underlining his all-round impact.

Completing the Top 3 was Kellaway’s teammate Joseph Sua’ali’i, who continued his red-hot form with 62 points, backing up last week’s 52-point haul. A try, try assist, and two line breaks cemented his place as one of the most electric fantasy options in the competition.

Among the forwards, Argentina captain Julián Montoya once again led the way, powering to 48 points. His relentless work rate included a crucial try (+15) and a defensive masterclass of 13 tackles, marking his fourth game of the season with 32+ points.

With just two rounds left, the race for the fantasy crown is heating up. One name to watch is Wallabies mid-fielder Hunter Paisami, who marked his first Rugby Championship match of the season with a bang, scoring 47 points. If he maintains that form, he could be a decisive differential in the final rounds. Big rewards went to managers who nailed their captain picks. A whopping 1,737 players doubled up on Sua’ali’i (124 points as captain), while 1,636 managers struck gold with Kolbe, whose 148-point captain return could prove season-defining.

With blockbuster clashes still to come, expect more fireworks in the Fantasy Rugby Championship.

The overall leaderboard remains tight after four rounds:

Joseph Sua’ali’i – 164 points

Julián Montoya – 154 points

Andrew Kellaway – 147 points

Ardie Savea – 142 points

Samisoni Taukei’aho – 140 points
