Cote ready for Harbour 7s

Helensville Rugby Club plays host to the annual Harbour Community Rugby Sevens Festival on Saturday, 1 November, and Northcote is set to feature in force with four teams ready to take the field.

Our Men’s 7s side returns hungry for redemption after finishing runners-up last year in a nail-biting final against Mahurangi White. Down 5-21 at halftime, the Cote men mounted a fierce comeback, closing the gap to 17-21 before time ran out. This year, they’ll be looking to go one better and reclaim the trophy they lifted in 2023.

The excitement doubles for our Women–literally. For the third straight year, our Cote Women return to the Harbour 7s, this time entering two strong squads. The last time they reached the podium was back in 2018 with a third-place finish. After standout campaigns across their 15s and 10s formats this season, both teams look primed to make a statement.

Harbour has introduced an Under 18 grade to this year’s 7s festival as a new pathway for school leavers to take the next step into senior rugby. We’re excited to see the Northcote U18 Boys make their debut, bringing fresh energy and plenty of pace to the field. Watch out for this young team, they’re hungry to compete and ready to make their mark.
