Northcote Gnomes 2023

85s Rugby is one of the fastest and most entertaining forms of the game. Players range in ages from their late teens to their late forties. With every player on the field being under 85kgs, it is probably the most level playing grade in Rugby. (no 120kg Giants to tackle). In this grade, it is Teamwork, Skill, Fitness and Fun that separate the teams.

The Northcote Gnomes have many proud traditions both on and off the field. A Team culture based on Brotherhood, Family, Fun, Inclusion and of course playing great Rugby.

So, if you're leaving school or want to reignite your rugby playing days come along and join the Gnomes. Not only will you join a great team, but you will be part of the greatest club on the Shore “The Mighty Cote”

07th Jul Match Report vs Taka

With the season drawing to a close, we were down to the last two games. After a fantastic effort against Shore last week, the team was determined to build on the promise we have shown throughout the season against Takapuna.

Takapuna turned up and played well, and they were deserved winners on the day. They created space and took advantage of mistakes to score well-worked tries. The Gnomes showed grit and determination throughout the game, scoring two great tries to Jimmy Napier and Travis Gower. The effort was everything that the coaches had asked for, with great games played by all the players across the park.

Scottie Walkington turned up and had an outstanding game, leading the forward pack with a 'follow me' attitude.

Thanks to all our supporters who continue to turn up rain or shine.

Up next is the last game of the season against the Rust, it promises to be a cracker.
