Don coached at the club for 15 years starting with the junior kids all the way to the senior team in 1983 and 1984.

He had many successful teams, two Auckland junior championships and a fourth grade Auckland championship. An Auckland U18's selector and coached four North Harbour rep teams, three of which went unbeaten.
