Keith joined the club in 1950 as a player. With a flair for public relations, he became valuable at arranging carnivals and other fundraising ventures. He served on the management committee in 1960 and 1961 before transferring his services to the junior boys sub-committee where he became chairman.

In 1974 he went back on the management committee, taking over as president from 1977-79.

Keith's wife Noeleen organised the women's committee during much of his term.
