Norm joined the club in 1945, becoming a most proficient halfback, good enough to play seven matches for Auckland in 1955.

He has served as a committeeman, delegate to the ARU Junior Management Board and club captain.

His wife Margaret shared his interest and was a prominent member of the women's committee in the 1970s.
