Rewarding our kids for playing a great game or performing new skills is a positive approach. But there are a few things we encourage you not to reward.

Don't reward a player for scoring tries. This is a common one but is not constructive as it leads to kids being 'greedy' as they think they need to go for the try themselves to get that Macdonald's meal. Celebrate with them for scoring a try but reward them for chasing the runner to get that last pass. Drawing a defender and passing. Making tackles. Securing the ruck ball.
